The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
