Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 As justification or warning, 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
