The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 By the book inscribed. 2 On an open record. 3 by the much-visited House, 4 and the roof uplifted 5 and the sea swarming, 6 the punishment of your Lord shall certainly come to pass, 7 there is none to avert it. 8 The day the sky will tremble, 9 And the mountains will move away with an awful movement. 10 Then woe that Day to the beliers; 11 those who are in plunging, playing. 12 on that Day they shall be ruthlessly thrust into the Fire of Hell. 13 This is the fire which you used to deny. 14 "Is this then a fake, or is it ye that do not see? 15 Taste you therein its heat, and whether you are patient of it or impatient of it, it is all the same. You are only being requited for what you used to do. 16 Indeed the pious are in Gardens and peace. 17 rejoicing in all their Lord has given them, and their Lord will guard them against the punishment of Hell. 18 Eat and drink with relish for that which ye have been working. 19 They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. 20 To those who have attained to faith We shall unite their offspring who have also followed them in faith, and We shall not let any of their good deeds go unrewarded; every human being is a pledge for whatever he has earned. 21 We shall provide them with fruits and the meat of the kind which they desire. 22 They will exchange cups of wine free of (incitement to) pleasantry or sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round boy-servants of theirs, to serve them as if they were preserved pearls. 24 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 25 Saying: Lo! of old, when we were with our families, we were ever anxious; 26 “So Allah did us a great favour, and saved us from the punishment of the flame.” 27 Indeed, we used to supplicate Him before. Indeed, it is He who is the Beneficent, the Merciful." 28
