Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 and when the graves are laid open: 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 Despite this, you deny the Day of Judgment, 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 Generous and recording, 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss; 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 17 Again, what could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
