Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 and by the day when it unveils. 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 you strive in various ways. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
