The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 Will pray for death, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
