O believers, obey God and His Messenger, and do not turn away from Him, even as you are listening; 20 And do not be like those who say: 'We hear', though they do not hearken. 21 ۞ The most wicked beasts in the sight of God are the deaf and the dumb who have no understanding. 22 Had they possessed any virtue, God would certainly have made them hear. Even if God were to make them hear, they would still turn away from (the words of God). 23 Believers, obey God and the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. Know that God stands between man and his heart, and you shall all be gathered in His presence. 24 And guard yourselves against a chastisement which cannot fall exclusively on those of you who are wrong-doers, and know that Allah is severe in punishment. 25 Call to mind when ye were a small (band), despised through the land, and afraid that men might despoil and kidnap you; But He provided a safe asylum for you, strengthened you with His aid, and gave you Good things for sustenance: that ye might be grateful. 26 O Ye who believe! defraud not Allah and the apostle, nor defraud your trusts while ye know. 27 Know that your possessions and children are a temptation for you and that God has the greatest reward (for the righteous ones). 28
