The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Lo! hell lurketh in ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30
