It is He who sends down water from the sky of which you drink, and which nourishes the plants you feed your cattle, 10 And with it He grows for you corn, and the olive and the date-palm and the grape, and all kinds of fruits. Surely, in that is a sign for a people who reflect. 11 He has made the night and the day and the sun and the moon subservient to you; and all the stars are subservient to His command. Surely in this there are signs for men of understanding. 12 And the things on this earth which He has multiplied in varying colours (and qualities): verily in this is a sign for men who celebrate the praises of Allah (in gratitude). 13 And it is He who subjected the sea for you to eat from it tender meat and to extract from it ornaments which you wear. And you see the ships plowing through it, and [He subjected it] that you may seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful. 14 And He has cast great mountains in the earth lest it might be convulsed with you, and rivers and roads that you may go aright, 15 And landmarks; and they are guided by the star. 16 Is there one who createth like unto one who createth not? Will ye not then be admonished? 17 If you count the favours of God you will not be able to calculate. Assuredly God is forgiving and kind. 18 and God knows all that you keep secret as well as all that you bring into the open. 19 And those whom they worship other than Allah, do not create anything but are themselves created. 20 Dead are they, not alive; and they perceive not when they will be raised up. 21
