The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 that hide, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
