Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the Reality? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 In high empyrean 22 its fruits are near. 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 And not known my account! 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 I am bereft of power." 29 [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
