The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 who are submissive to God in their prayers, 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 Who guard their sex 5 Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed - 6 So whoever desires more than these two – they are crossing the limits. 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 And they who carefully maintain their prayers - 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 that shall inherit Paradise; and in it they shall abide for ever. 11 Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 And indeed, We have created above you seven [celestial] orbits: and never are We unmindful of [any aspect of Our] creation. 17 And We sent down water from the sky in proper measure, then stored it in the earth; and indeed We are Able to take it away! 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We make you to drink of what is in their bellies, and you have in them many advantages and of them you eat, 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
