And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They said, 'We serve idols, and continue cleaving to them. 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 "Or do you good or harm?" 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing so." 74 Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, 75 you, and your elderly fathers? 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 Who created me, and He doth guide me, 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 and heals me when I am sick. 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 O Lord, give me wisdom and admit me among the righteous, 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 whereas the blazing fire will be laid open before those who had been lost in grievous error; 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 They shall say while they contend therein: 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 when we considered you equal to the Lord of the Universe. 98 It was the evildoers who led us astray, 99 So none we have as intercessors. 100 nor any loving friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 In all this, behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
