The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
