The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
