In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 for an appointed term? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
