The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 Arise and warn 2 And thy Sustainer's greatness glorify! 3 and purify your robes, 4 and defilement flee! 5 And bestow not favour that thou mayest receive more. 6 and be patient unto thy Lord. 7 For when the trumpet shall sound, 8 So that is a tough day. 9 for the unbelievers not easy. 10 LEAVE Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 And then granted him resources in abundance. 12 And children to be by his side! 13 whose life I have made run smoothly 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give him even more! 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hell-fire called As-Sa'ud, or to) face a severe torment! 17 For lo! he did consider; then he planned - 18 May he be accursed, how he planned! 19 And again perish he! How maliciously he devised! 20 May he be condemned again for his schemes! He looked around, 21 and then he frowns and glares, 22 Then turned he back, and grew stiff-necked. 23 And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; 24 this is nothing but the word of a mere mortal!” 25 I shall surely roast him in Sakar; 26 What will let you know what the Scorching is like! 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 Burning the skins! 29 Over it are nineteen. 30 We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, that those who were given the Book may have certainty, and that those who believe may increase in belief, and that those who were given the Book and those who believe may not be in-doubt, and that those in whose hearts there is sickness, and the unbelievers, may say, 'What did God intend by this as a similitude?' So God leads astray whomsoever He will, and He guides whomsoever He will; and none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but a Reminder to mortals. 31
