Samood rejected the warning. 23 So they said, “What! Shall we follow a man from among us? If we do, we are indeed astray, and insane!” 24 Why - on him alone from among all of us should a [divine] reminder have been bestowed? Nay, but he is a boastful liar!" 25 Tomorrow they will come to know, who is the liar, the insolent one! 26 Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient. 27 And let them know that the water [of their wells] is to be divided between them, with each share of water equitably apportioned." 28 In response they called their companion – he therefore caught and hamstrung the she-camel. 29 So how did My punishment turn out, and My warnings? 30 Behold, We sent a single Blast against them, and they became like the trampled twigs of a sheep pen-builder. 31 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 32 The folk of Lot rejected warnings. 33 Verily, We sent against them a violent storm of stones (which destroyed them all), except the family of Lout (Lot), whom We saved in last hour of the night, 34 A favor from Us; thus do We reward him who gives thanks. 35 Lot warned them against Our torment, but they persistently disputed it. 36 And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes. (They heard:) "Now taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 37 And at daybreak a determined punishment came upon them. 38 Now taste My punishment after My warnings! 39 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 40
