Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 Thereafter they (the people) came to him in haste. 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 And [Abraham] said: "Verily, I shall [leave this land and] go wherever my Sustainer will guide me!" 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 whereupon We gave him the glad tiding of a boy-child gentle [like himself]? 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaque (Isaac) a Prophet from the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
