No affliction befalls, except it be by the leave of God. Whosoever believes in God, He will guide his heart. And God has knowledge of everything. 11 Obey Allah and obey His messenger; but if ye turn away, then the duty of Our messenger is only to convey (the message) plainly. 12 God! There is no god but He, so let the faithful put their trust in Him. 13 O People who Believe! Some of your wives and children are your enemies, therefore be wary of them; and if you pardon and overlook and forgive, then indeed Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful. 14 Your wealth and your children are only a trial; God's reward is great: 15 Remain, then, conscious of God as best you can, and listen [to Him,] and pay heed. And spend in charity for the good of your own selves: for, such as from their own covetousness are saved - it is they, they that shall attain to a happy state! 16 If you lend to God a good loan, He will multiply it for you, and will forgive you. God is All-thankful, All-clement, 17 God is the Knower of the unseen and the seen: He is the Almighty, the Wise One. 18
