Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. 1 It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. 2 and that “He – exalted be His Majesty – has not taken to Himself either a wife or a son”; 3 The fool among us spoke against God outrage, 4 ‘Whereas we thought that men and jinns would never fabricate a lie against Allah!’ 5 Some men used to seek refuge with the jinn in the past, but that only increased their insolence. 6 And they had thought, as you thought, that Allah would never send anyone [as a messenger]. 7 'And we have sought to reach the heaven; but found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 We would sit there on seats to hear; but any listening now finds a meteor in wait for him. 9 And so we know not whether evil is intended for those in the earth, or whether their Lord intends for them rectitude. 10 As for us, some of us are righteous and others are not. We have all followed different ways. 11 And we know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden. 13 Some of us are Muslims and some of us have deviated from the Truth. Whoever has embraced Islam has followed the right guidance. 14 But those who are iniquitous will be fuel for Hell. 15 And [Allah revealed] that if they had remained straight on the way, We would have given them abundant provision 16 So that We might try them with respect to it; and whoever turns aside from the reminder of his Lord, He will make him enter into an afflicting chastisement: 17 And the places of worship are only for Allah, so pray not unto anyone along with Allah. 18 When the worshiper of Allah stood supplicating to Him, they swarmed around him (Prophet Muhammad). 19
