Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 and the smooth runners 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
