The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the books are spread, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
