▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 a warning to humankind, 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
