۞ And those who look not for a meeting with Us say: Why are angels not sent down unto us and (Why) do we not see our Lord! Assuredly they think too highly of themselves and are scornful with great pride. 21 The day they see the angels there will be no happy tidings for the sinners; and they will say: "There is an insurmountable barrier!" 22 and We shall take all that they did and turn it into scattered dust. 23 And for the People of the Garden on that day is a better destination and account, and a better place of afternoon rest. 24 On a Day when the sky will split open with its clouds and the angels are sent down rank upon rank, 25 the Kingdom that day, the true Kingdom, shall belong to the All-merciful and it shall be a day harsh for the unbelievers. 26 And the day when the unjust will gnaw his hands, saying, “Alas, if only I had chosen a way along with the (Noble) Messenger (of Allah)!” 27 Oh, would that I had never chosen such a one for my companion -- 28 He indeed led me astray from the Remembrance, after it had come to me; Satan is ever a forsaker of men.' 29 AND [on that Day] the Apostle will say: "O my Sustainer! Behold, [some of] my people have come to regard this Qur'an as something [that ought to be] discarded!" 30 For so it is that against every prophet We have set up enemies from among those who are lost in sin: yet none can guide and give succour as thy Sustainer does! 31 The unbelievers say: "Why was the whole Qur'an not sent down all at once to him?" It was sent thus that We may keep your heart resolute. So We enunciated it by steps and distinctly. 32 And they bring thee no similitude but We bring thee the Truth (as against it), and better (than their similitude) as argument. 33 Those who will be gathered into Gehenna (Hell) upon their faces shall be in the worst in place, and have gone further astray from the Path. 34
