The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night when it covers 1 and the day in splendour 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 for those who spend for the cause of God, 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 and rejects what is right, 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
