The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when souls are united, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the pages are made public 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 The closing night, 17 And the breath of morning 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
