AND IT IS We who have built the universe with [Our creative] power; and verily, it is We who are steadily expanding it. 47 We have spread out the earth and how brilliantly it is spread! 48 And of everything We have created pairs that you may be mindful. 49 So turn to God. I give you a clear warning from Him. 50 And do not ascribe divinity to aught side by side with God: verily, I am a plain warner to you from Him!" 51 In the same way no Messenger came to those who lived before them without his people calling him a magician or an insane person. 52 Have they, perchance, handed down this [way of thinking] as a legacy unto one another? Nay, they are people filled with overweening arrogance! 53 So turn away from them, you shall not be blamed, 54 And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers. 55 I created the jinn and mankind only so that they might worship Me: 56 I do not desire provision from them, nor do I desire that they should feed Me. 57 God is certainly the great provider, Lord of strength and power. 58 And indeed for these unjust is also a turn of punishment, like that of their companions – so they must not ask Me to hasten. 59 And woe unto those who disbelieve, from (that) their day which they are promised. 60
