Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
