Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

May both the hands of Abu Lahab be destroyed – and they are destroyed! 1 Neither his wealth nor his gains will avail him. 2 [In the life to come] he shall have to endure a fire fiercely glowing; 3 together with his wife, that carrier of evil tales, 4 On her neck shall be a cord of twisted fibre. 5

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
