O YOU who have attained to faith! Do not gorge yourselves on usury, doubling and re-doubling it - but remain conscious of God, so that you might attain to a happy state; 130 Save yourselves from the fire which is prepared for the unbelievers. 131 And pay heed unto God and the Apostle, so that you might be graced with mercy. 132 ۞ And vie with one another to attain to your Sustainer's forgiveness and to a paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, which has been readied for the God-conscious 133 Those who spend (of that which Allah hath given them) in ease and in adversity, those who control their wrath and are forgiving toward mankind; Allah loveth the good; 134 These are the ones who, when they commit any indecency and wrong against themselves, instantly remember Allah and implore forgiveness for their sins - for who will forgive sins save Allah? - and who do not wilfully persist in the wrong they did. 135 their recompense is forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens with rivers flowing through them, where they will abide forever. How excellent will be the reward of those who do good works. 136 Dispensations have gone forth before you; go about then on the earth, and behold what wise hath been the end of the beliers! 137 This is an exposition unto mankind and a guidance and an admonition unto the God-fearing. 138 Faint not, neither sorrow; you shall be the upper ones if you are believers. 139 If a wound touches you, a similar wound already has touched the nation. Such days We alternate between the people so that Allah knows those who believe, and that He will take witnesses from among you, for Allah does not love the harmdoers, 140 And that Allah may purge those who believe and destroy the infidels. 141 Did you suppose that you would enter Paradise without Allah knowing those of you who struggled and who were patient? 142 And certainly you desired death before you met it, so indeed you have seen it and you look (at it) 143
