Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
HA MIM. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful, 2 a Book whose verses have been well-expounded; an Arabic Qur'an for those who have knowledge, 3 good tidings to bear, and warning, but most of them have turned away, and do not give ear. 4 And they say, “Our hearts are covered against the affair you call us to, and there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you – therefore mind your own business, we are minding ours.” 5 Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Physically I am a human like you – I receive the divine revelation that your God is only One God, therefore be upright towards Him and seek forgiveness from Him”; and woe is to the polytheists. – 6 Who give not the poor-due, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail. 8
