Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 excusing or warning, 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 for an appointed term? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
