The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
