The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

By the snorting, panting horses, 1 And strike sparks of fire, 2 then raid by the dawn, 3 Then thereby raise dust, 4 which engulfs the enemy. 5 Lo! man is an ingrate unto his Lord 6 And to that (fact) he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 And is intractable in his love of worldly goods. 8 ۞ Knows he not that when that which is in the tombs is over-thrown, 9 and that which is in the breasts is brought out -- 10 Surely their Lord will be aware of their (deeds). 11
