And when your Lord called to Moses, saying: 'Go to the harmdoing nation, 10 the people of Pharaoh; will they not be godfearing?' 11 He said: "My Lord! I fear that they will brand me a liar. 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 They also have a sin against me, and I fear they will slay me.' 14 He said: "Certainly not! So go both of you with Our Signs. We shall be with you listening to everything. 15 "And when you both come to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), say: 'We are the Messengers of the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 [Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life? 18 And yet thou didst commit that [heinous] deed of thine, and [hast thus shown that] thou art one of the ingrate!" 19 Replied [Moses]: "I committed it while I was still going astray; 20 So I ran away from you out of fear. But my Lord has given me wisdom, and made me an apostle. 21 But the favour you oblige me with is that you have enslaved the children of Israel." 22 Fir'awn said: and what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, if you seek to be convinced with certainty." 24 The Pharaoh said to the people around him, "Did you hear that?" 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 (Pharaoh) said: 'Surely, the Messenger who has been sent to you is mad!' 27 (Moses) said: "Lord of the East and the West, and all between! if ye only had sense!" 28 Fir'awn said: if thou wilt take a god other than me, I shall surely place thee among the prisoners. 29 and Moses asked, "Even if I show you a clear sign?" 30 Said Firaun, “Then bring it, if you are of the truthful.” 31 So Moosa put down his staff and it became a visible serpent. 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
