He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ (The Prophet) frowned and turned away, 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 and fears (Allah), 9 From him will you divert yourself. 10 By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 exalted and purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 then eased his path for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Then let mankind look at his food - 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder: 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 And some faces will on that Day with dust be covered, 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 Those! they are the infidels, the ungodly. 42
