The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Issuing from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
