(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 Loosen the knot in my tongue, 27 that they may understand my speech. 28 Appoint for me of my folk a familiar, 29 Aaron, my brother; 30 Add Thou through him to my strength, 31 And associate him (with me) in my affair, 32 That we may hallow Thee oft. 33 and remember You abundantly. 34 You are surely watching over us. 35 Allah said: "You are granted your request, O Musa (Moses)! 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on you another time (before). 37 When We revealed to your mother what was revealed; 38 to lace her child in a chest and throw it into the sea which would hurl it towards the shore. Then an enemy of Mine who was also the enemy of the child would pick it up from there. I made you attractive and loveable so that you would be reared before My own eyes. 39 “When your sister went, then said, ‘Shall I show you the people who may nurse him?’ And We brought you back to your mother in order to soothe her eyes and that she may not grieve; and you killed a man, so We freed you from sorrow, and tested you to the maximum; you therefore stayed for several years among the people of Madyan; then you came (here) at an appointed time, O Moosa.” 40 And I chose you for Myself. 41 Go you and your brother with My communications and be not remiss in remembering Me; 42 Go, both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds. 43 “And speak to him courteously, that perhaps he may ponder or have some fear.” 44 They said: "Our Lord! Verily! We fear lest he should hasten to punish us or lest he should transgress (all bounds against us)." 45 [Allah] said, "Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see. 46 So go you both to Pharaoh, and say, "We are the Messengers of thy Lord, so send forth with us the Children of Israel and chastise them not; we have brought thee a sign from thy Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 it has been revealed to us that punishment shall overtake him who rejects it and turns away!'" 48 He said: who is the Lord of you twain, O Musa! 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave to everything its creation, then guided it (to its goal). 50 Pharaoh said, 'And what of the former generations?' 51 He replied: "The knowledge of that is with my Lord, duly recorded: my Lord never errs, nor forgets,- 52 Who has made earth for you like a bed (spread out); and has opened roads (ways and paths etc.) for you therein; and has sent down water (rain) from the sky. And We have brought forth with it various kinds of vegetation. 53 (Saying): Eat ye and feed your cattle. Lo! herein verily are portents for men of thought. 54
