The unbelieving assembly of his nation, who belied the encounter of the Everlasting Life, and on whom We had bestowed ease in this life, said: 'This is but a human like yourselves; he eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 And if you obey a mortal like yourselves, then most surely you will be losers: 34 "Does he promise you that when you have died and have become dust and bones, you shall come out alive (resurrected)? 35 ۞ Far, far is that which you are threatened with. 36 "There is nothing but our life of this world! We die and we live! And we are not going to be resurrected! 37 He is only a man who invents lies against God, so have no faith in him". 38 He said: My Lord! Help me because they deny me. 39 God replied, "After a very short time they will certainly regret for their deeds." 40 The blast justly struck them and We reduced them to rubble. Away with such wicked people! 41 Then after them We brought forth other generations. 42 No nation can outstrip its term, nor can it put it back. 43 Then sent We our messengers in succession: every time there came to a people their messenger, they accused him of falsehood: so We made them follow each other (in punishment): We made them as a tale (that is told): So away with a people that will not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our Signs and a clear authority 45 Towards Firaun and his court members – in response they were haughty, and they were in dominance. 46 They therefore said, “Shall we believe in two humans like ourselves, whereas their nation is servile to us?” 47 So they rejected them and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave the Book to Moses so that they may be guided. 49 We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign and gave them shelter on a peaceful hillside watered by a fresh spring. 50
