The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 Will pray for death, 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
