Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his people, saying, 'Warn thy people, ere there come on them a painful chastisement.' 1 [And Noah] said: "O my people! I am but a plain warner to you, [sent to tell you] 2 (Bidding you): Serve Allah and keep your duty unto Him and obey me, 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 He said, “My Lord! I invited my people night and day.” 5 but my call has only increased them in running away. 6 And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance. 7 Then I called them openly, 8 Then I announced to them and [also] confided to them secretly 9 Then I said, "Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Surely He is the most forgiving. 10 He will shower upon you torrents from heaven, 11 "'Give you increase in wealth and sons; and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers (of flowing water). 12 strengthen you by (providing) you wealth and children, and make gardens and streams for you. What is the matter with you that you are not afraid of the greatness of God 13 When He created you by (divers) stages? 14 ‘Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens atop each other?’ 15 "'And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a (Glorious) Lamp? 16 Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 And thereafter He will cause you to return thereinto, and He will bring you forth a forthbringing. 18 And Allah has made for you the earth a wide expanse, 19 That you may go along therein in wide paths. 20
