So exhort (them, O Prophet), for by your Lord's Grace, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say: A poet, we wait for him the evil accidents of time. 30 Say (unto them): Except (your fill)! Lo! I am with you among the expectant. 31 Is this what their senses tell them, or are they a rebellious people? 32 Or do they say: He has forged it. Nay! they do not believe. 33 Let them produce a phrase like it, if what they say is true! 34 Have they not been created from some source, or are they themselves the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no firm Belief. 36 Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]? 37 Or have they the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority. 38 Or hath He daughters whereas ye have sons? 39 Do you (Muhammad) ask them for any payment (for your preaching) which they cannot afford? 40 Or is it that they have access to (the Truths in) the realm beyond sense-perception which they are writing down? 41 Or do they intend a plot (against you O Muhammad SAW)? But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) are themselves in a plot! 42 Or, do they have a god, other than Allah? Exaltations to Allah above that which they associate! 43 Even if they saw lumps falling from the sky they would say: 'A massed cloud' 44 Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. 45 The Day when their plotting shall not avail them at all nor will they be helped (i.e. they will receive their torment in Hell). 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment besides this: But most of them understand not. 47 And so, await in patience thy Sustainer's judgment, for thou art well within Our sight. And extol thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise whenever thou risest up, 48 and exalt Him in the night and at the declining of the stars. 49
