Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 in a garden sublime, 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 well-placed cushions, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
