The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
