When your Lord called out to Moses, saying, "Go to the wrongdoing people, 10 The people of Fir'awn; fear they Me not? 11 He said: "My Lord! I fear that they will brand me a liar. 12 And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). 13 besides, they accuse me of a crime, and I fear that they may put me to death." 14 The Lord said, "Have no fear, both of you go with Our miracles. We shall closely listen to you." 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 "So allow the Children of Israel to go with us.' " 17 He (Pharaoh) said (to Moses): 'Did We not bring you up when you were a child? And have you not spent years of your life amongst us? 18 Yet you were ungrateful and have done the deed you did' 19 Replied [Moses]: "I committed it while I was still going astray; 20 So I ran away from you out of fear. But my Lord has given me wisdom, and made me an apostle. 21 And this is the favour with which you taunt me -- that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 The Pharaoh asked, "Who is the Lord of the Universe?" 23 [Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced." 24 (Pharaoh) said unto those around him: Hear ye not? 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers. 26 (Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman! 27 Moses continued: "(He is) the Lord of the east and the west, and all between them. If you only had any understanding!" 28 (The Pharaoh) said: "If you took another god apart from me I will have you incarcerated." 29 He said: Even though I show thee something plain? 30 Said he, 'Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.' 31 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff - and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 32 and he drew his hand (out of his armpit) and lo! it had become a shining object to the beholders. 33
