Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
