And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers. 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 But the shriek seized them at early morning. 83 All that they had acquired was of no avail to them. 84 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but in truth; and the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness. 85 Verily, your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator. 86 We have indeed given you the seven oft-repeated (examples), and the majestic Qur'an. 87 Cast not thine eyes toward that which We have let classes of them to enjoy; and grieve not over them, and lower thy wing unto the believers. 88 And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" - 89 (We have given you the Quran) as We had given (the Bible) to those who divided themselves into groups 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 By your Lord, We will question them all 92 For all that they used to do. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 Who set up along with Allah another ilah (god), they will come to know. 96 And well do We know that thy bosom is constricted by the [blasphemous] things that they say: 97 So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]. 98 and worship thy Sustainer till death comes to thee. 99
