Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
