And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors. 31 And We knowingly chose them, among all others of their time. 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; – 34 'There is nothing but our first death; we shall not be revived. 35 So bring our fathers [back], if what you say is true. 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 We did not idly create the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them; 38 We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. 39 Truly, the Day of Decision is the appointed time for all of them, 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
